10/10 90 minutes of Basic Yoga For Dummies later (as a final stretch-out)... Dinner: Mushrooms and chestnuts in gravy, parsley mashed potatoes, peas, roasted red pepper half (that looks like a dismembered heart...) I also see another Apple Pie Larabar in my near future. Yes, I am addicted. Right, I'd better try to get some sleep before the race (yeah, right!) Night everyone and hopefully I'll be back with a better, more inspiring post tomorrow!

<3 Jenn 03 August 2009 08:07 gypsym said... I used to take piano lessons when I was younger. But my teacher was a brutal old woman and she made me cry every time I went for a lesson. I really enjoyed playing, and I wish I would have searched around for another teacher instead of giving up completely. I understand what you mean about feeling so horrible when you have to put an abnormal amount of effort and still don t seem to improve. I went through god knows how many groups, sports, and other activities through the years. Each one I quit after only a few days because I was so intimidated by the other people or teacher. If I couldn t be amazing, I couldn t do it at all. And that is such an irrational thought.

~Jessica~ is absolutely sure that:
8.5/10 Sadly, my keyboard/piano tuition didn't go well: it turns out that I've been allowed to develop bad habits in terms of fingering when playing scales and arpeggios. This is passable when playing keyboard, but unacceptable if I want to transition to the grade equivalent on piano. Basically it means stripping my playing back to basics so that the car crash of my finger positioning can be slowly built back up again...it should help eventually with playing pieces too, because although they might sound correct, the finger positioning is terrible and apparently I'm making things harder for myself by playing in my standard manner. Then for the rest of the lesson I was baffled by my tutor desperately trying to explain to me some of the more mathmatical elements of sight reading, which left me feeling like the world's greatest idiot. My natural tendency is to give up when I'm not naturally inclined towards something, and my default setting when it comes to music is...tone deaf and useless. Sometimes it feels like I'm banging my head against a brick wall but I'd feel like such a failure if I didn't keep persevering. Nevertheless, it opened the door for a lot of negative thoughts which worstened later into the evening.

Three New Larabar Flavors! 08.06.2009 by ComfyTummy in Larabars , Products I just took a drive over to Whole Foods to stock up on some Larabars and coconut water. I m heading down to Atlantic City for a 3 day business convention next week and I never travel without those. The Whole Foods near me keeps all of their food bars on an end shelf, not in an aisle. They also keep all of the Larabars in open boxes on the very top shelf. Thankfully, I m tall enough to reach them. If I was a few inches shorter, I wouldn t be. I reach up, stand on my toes, and then reach my fingers into the boxes and pull out the Larabars.
